Hello tech world!! Lately I have been using my iPad and my iPhone on the go more often. One thing I have realized is that since I have been using my devices more; charging the devices more frequently has increased. Sometimes I forget to charge my devices before I start my day and sometimes I am just not in a vehicle long enough to get a decent charge in; even with using the Aukey dual port car charger (Interested in learning all about it, check out my previous blog which includes a specs and charging time).
Therefore; I have decided to check into the Aukey 10,000mAh Universal Power Bank and see how effective it is for charging my devices on the go.
I figured that a power bank might be more helpful because they are smaller, usually lightweight, easy to hold while charging your device while you are using it(or it can be set on the table/desk next to you), and convenient to carry in a purse, pocket, or backpack! The Power bank is about the size of an altoid tin as you can see pictured below.

The Aukey Power Bank is pretty lightweight, small, and easy to carry around. Exactly the specs you are looking for in a power bank! And this one comes with a nice neoprene netter carrying case that fits the power bank and supplied usb to usb c power cable. The Aukey Power Bank has the power delivery of 2.0 and and the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

This power bank comes with the usb output, the usb c in/out put that way you can charge the power bank or a device using the usb c supplied cable if you do not already have one; it also has a micro usb input to charge the power bank, and an iOS input to charge the power bank. I find this very convenient that it does support several in/outputs because if you are charging an older android that supports micro, a new android with usb c, or an iOS device; you will of course have a cable with you that can also charge the power bank. You do not have to worry about carrying different cables for charging your device and your power bank.

Alrighty, lets get down to charging times which is the important information that makes or break us on buying these types of tech accessories for our devices. I used the Aukey Power bank for the first few days. I used this accessory to charge an IPhone XS Max, a 2nd gen IPad, and a Motorola G4!
When it came down to charging the iPhone XS Max it took on average about an hour to charge the phone 25%. The power bank charged the iPhone about 10% within 20 minutes. Of course many are thinking that 25% in an hour is not really fast charging. However; I think most feel this way because we are so use to our everyday chargers that come with our devices or if you are like me, I use an Apple Mac charger for my devices. I am use to fast charging my iPhone or iPad using that Mac charger. But, when on the go and a simple solution of course comes down to this Aukey Power bank.
For the IPad it did charge about 30% in an hour and or the Motorola G4 it charged 60% in an hour. On average the Aukey 10,000mAh charges about 25-30% in an hour for apple products and about 50% in an hour for Android devices. One aspect we often overlook when it comes to a power bank is how long it takes to charge itself. This Aukey Power bank took 4.5-5 hours to charge from 25% to a full 100%.
The only negative aspect that I did find with this accessory is that it does not charge devices simultaneously. On a positive notel I do recommend the Aukey 10,000 mAh Universal Power bank if you ever need to charge your device on the go. You can’t go wrong with such a small, easy to use and carry device. It is definitely not going to replace your standard everyday charger but it’s convenient when traveling and on the go. The Quick charge 3.0 really does make a difference when charging and it is 38% more efficient than a quick charge 2.0 power bank.
